Smoked almonds
Smoked almonds have a unique, hearty and full flavor due to the addition of smoke aroma and herbs. Delicious as a nutritious snack between meals or as a fitness snack after an intense workout! Just like roasted almonds, smoked almonds are briefly roasted in the oven. Because of their relatively low saturated fat and sugar content, they’re the perfect substitute for chips or traditional nuts. Just as hearty and spicy, but much healthier!
Almonds are naturally healthy and rich in magnesium, vitamin E, calcium and iron. In addition, they contain a lot of fiber, healthy, unsaturated fats and are very popular with vegans, vegetarians and athletes due to their high vegetable protein content. 100 grams of almonds contain no less than 20 grams of protein, making them a good substitute for meat or dairy products.
You can also make smoked almonds at home from regular, natural almonds. Marinated with your choice of spices, place them on a charcoal grill and let them rest for 20 minutes. Then let the almonds cool completely to get the perfect smoky flavor.
Like most of the world’s almonds, our smoked almonds come from the USA. The nut is grown extensively in California in particular. There are 30 different types of almonds, 10 of which account for about three quarters of the total production.
